Susan Edmonson

Susan Edmonson is an award winning quilter and mixed media artist. She started her journey in 1981 stemming from an art background of drawing and painting. Her passion is mixing all of her knowledge into creative art quilts, small Prayer Flags, and fabric books with each one being heavily embellished either by hand or machine! Most of her designs are inspired from Nature with attention to detail. Her classes are designed to inspire her students to create their own works of art. Susan has been a Bernina Ambassador for many years and loves what she does!

She has been published in numerous Somerset Studio Publications, Quilting Arts, and others, along with three segments on Quilting Arts TV. She teaches across the US for national shows and guilds.

She lives in Concord, North Carolina with her high school sweetheart and husband of 46 years. They have two grown sons who are married with four precious grandchildren between them.

Lecture:  My Quilts Don’t Fit on Beds!

I love working small! My tiny quilts are considered by many as “tiny works of art.” I will explain how working small can give you great results while working out the many, many creative ideas we all have! Large projects have always overwhelmed me and are daunting to finish… by the time I would finish I was so very tired of the project. So tiny was just my style! Fabric books, fabric jewelry, purses, prayer flags and many more projects are my favorite. From my slide show you will see all the detail in my tiny unique art pieces. I will also be bringing some of my original art pieces for the trunk show as well.

Don’t miss Susan’s workshop, Wildflower Tales, on Friday, June 7, at Best Little Retreat Center.
