Nina is a self-described people person from Mobile, Alabama. She has been sewing since she was 13 years old and taught sewing in her home for 8 years. She is positive, creative, quirky and a lot of fun! She loves to quilt and will be speaking about an important component of the quilt sandwich at the guild – threads.

“I’ve been blessed to be married to an AMAZING man since 1987! Howard is my soul mate! We’ve given each other the same Anniversary cards, same Christmas presents, same Valentine’s cards….it’s super funny, and total confirmation! He supports and encourages me in my teaching and anything else I do! He’s learned a LOT about quilting and can now give an educated opinion. We have 2 WONDERFUL children! Our oldest is our daughter and she got married in October 2016! They’ve given us 2 BEAUTIFUL grandsons whom we ADORE!!! Our son is a Marine, and he just married a wonderful young lady February 22, 2020. We CAN’T leave out our 2 cats! Each is a rescue we found and gave a home to. Hershey, and Lexi. They follow us around the house and are ALWAYS in the room we’re in! Sweet things! (BUT…you WON’T find them in my sewing room!)”

Thread is like candy! Sometimes you just can’t get enough…LOL! When we purchase thread it’s usually the color we buy, or the thread the shop carries. In this lecture you’ll learn about the different weights of thread and why they make a difference. Ply, why is that important? Specialty threads like metallic, monofilament, tinsel threads, how do we work with them? Why do metallics give us issues? This lecture is FULL of information you’ll be thrilled you know now!
