Retreat committee:

Yes, we’re tardy to this party. But we finally got here. Please forgive us!

Registration Deadline:

• While it is short notice, our deadline to register is the December Guild meeting on Thursday, December 7, 2023. We cannot guarantee a refund of your payment if you cancel after that date.
• Registration forms will be available at the December 7 meeting. You can complete the registration form and make your payment by check or credit card at the meeting.
• If you don’t know if you’ll be able to attend by December 7, please reach out to one of the committee members to see if space remains.
• Note that registration is open to non-Guild members for an additional $10.00 per non-member.

Hotel Information:

• There are no rooms with three or more beds; if you plan to share a room with two or three friends (triple or quad occupancy), you’ll be sharing two queen-size beds.
• If you wish to come early or stay later, the hotel rate will be $85.00/night. Make your own reservation.
• The bar adjacent to the lobby no longer serves food items; all food is served in the restaurant.
• The indoor swimming facility is completed, and includes not only lap swimming lanes, but a BIG hot tub.
• At this very moment, they’re upgrading the parking lot to include some covered parking and a few charging stations for electric vehicles.
• Robots are assisting the staff with housekeeping and food delivery.
• Hotel will be closed in December to allow workers to make upgrades to the water pipe system – which is why we’ve dropped Thursday from the duration of the retreat. The work is scheduled to be completed about the same time we arrive. We felt that an extra day for any last-minute preparations would be helpful to both the hotel and our stitching group (nobody likes a hotel without running water, right?).

Sewing Room (Ballroom) Restrictions:

• You will not be permitted to bring your sewing supplies into the ballroom until 8 a.m. on Friday and must be packed up and rolling out the door by 3 p.m. on Sunday.
• Like last year, you cannot bring outside food into the ballroom. Please keep personal snacks in your room.
• They ARE permitting guests to bring their own beverages. They’ll provide Pepsi products in the refrigerator, as well as coffee, iced tea, bottled water and ice.

“Bones” Table (the term Plano Guild members coined for quilting stuff that just needs a new home):

• As is our tradition, a table will be provided for retreat attendees to bring sewing items that need a new home, such as fabric, notions, or patterns (please take your unwanted books to Half-Price Books).
• Anything left when we pack up the Guild property to go back to storage will be disposed of.
• Please do not bring items to sell (in the past it has been a distraction and sewing space gobbler).

Tranquility Spa Services:

The Spa plans to provide the chair massages and hand massages they’ve offered in the past; however, they’ll only be available in the hotel building on Friday.

Saturday is the busiest day of the week for the Spa, and therefore they do not have the staff to be split between the two locations. However, the Spa itself will be operating both Friday and Saturday with full services, and they’re offering a wide range of discounted services to our group. (The spa is on the other side of the outdoor pool; a very short walk away from the ballroom.)

Please note that Tranquility Spa requires all appointments associated with a group to be confirmed and prepaid 48 hours in advance of the appointment. Gratuities are not included with any service or spa package.
